Sun Burn
Direct exposure to the sun's rays may produce:
- Redness
- Itching
- Tenderness of the skin.
It may cause superficial burning to a more severe reaction in which the skin becomes red, blistered and painful.
Sings & Symptoms
- Skin becomes red, tender and swollen with possible blistering.
- Affected skin will feel hot.
Herbal Medicines
- Remove the person to a cool place and arrange medical aid, if burns are severe.
- Cool the skin by sponging gently with cold water.
- Give the person sips of cold water at frequent intervals.
- Apply the paste prepared from chandan (sandalwood) and haldi (turmeric) lightly over the area and replace the application twice a day with freshly prepared paste.
- 1 teaspoonful of this (chandan+haldi) mixture should also be given internally twice a day.
- Do not break blisters.
